When photographs are damaged, every decision matters

What to do right now

Do not wipe, peel, or separate wet or stuck photographs. Photograph them as they are so we can see the damage before anything changes.

Step 1

Send a photo of your damaged photos

Send phone photos of the damaged album pages or arrange a studio visit. We can start with a few representative examples from the batch.

Step 2

Get an assessment

After we assess the damage, we explain what can be recovered and prepare a formal quote for your insurance company.

Step 3

If we can’t recover, we don’t charge

If we cannot recover the agreed material, we do not charge for restoration work.

These illustrative before-and-after examples show the kind of tonal correction, cleanup, and repair that can bring damaged family photographs back into focus.

What can and cannot be recovered

Every collection is different. We explain the likely outcome before restoration begins.

Often recoverable

Faded color, scratches, tears, stains, contrast, red-eye, water marks, smoke staining, missing edges, and distracting background damage. We can often recover meaningful detail across a batch of photographs.

May be limited

Severe charring, missing emulsion, fused layers, mold loss, or areas where the original detail is gone may require artistic reconstruction. We identify those limits clearly and never promise detail that is no longer present.

From damaged albums to photographs your family can enjoy again

Your photos will feel natural and personal, with missing details recovered while preserving the character of the originals.

Why careful restoration costs more here

We are not a one-click filter or a bulk image service. Every photograph in the batch is handled by hand, checked for alignment, and reviewed for tonal balance, dust, scratches, and other artifacts. We work at high resolution, apply careful cleanup, and deliver files ready to print, share, and preserve.

What we can often improve

Faded color, scratches, tears, stains, contrast, red-eye, missing edges, and distracting background damage across an album or collection. Severe loss may require artistic reconstruction; we explain that clearly before you decide.

We work with insurance companies

We can help organize the information your adjuster needs, from the first documentation through the restoration scope.

Typical batch pricing

Batch projects are quoted after we review representative photographs, the quantity, and the level of repair required. See our packages and services for the types of work we offer, then contact us for a collection-specific estimate.

Why premium hand restoration costs more: every photograph is reviewed by hand at high resolution for tonal balance, artifacts, alignment, and cleanup.

Privacy and photograph handling

We use photographs and uploaded images only to assess the requested restoration, prepare a quote, and complete the agreed work. We do not sell or license them. This local preview sends no files anywhere; before the live form is published, confirm the storage location and retention period for submitted images.

Original physical photographs are handled as family records and returned according to the agreed project arrangements.

Tell us what happened, and we’ll tell you what may be possible.

For the clearest assessment, send phone photos of the album pages and damaged areas. Please do not scrub, peel, or separate photographs that are stuck together while wet.
